About this deal

Light Brown – Mainly used on lighter timbers that you want to add a subtle shade and warmth to the grain of the wood. By not using ‘mass manufactured perfectly straight timber’, unevenness is to be expected, so your wooden tops may not have completely flat surfaces and there may be slight gaps visible in between the timber joins. The application of additional coats will deepen the existing colour / shade and significantly enhance the resulting sheen level. Reclaimed wood is a live material and responds to its natural surroundings and, like all living things, it ages. So over time you may notice the wood changing slightly as it adapts to your home. This is completely normal.

All Bespoke Collection furniture can be stained in various colours. The different colour options are shown below. Apply the wax using very fine 0000 wire wool or buffing cloth in the direction of the grain and allow soaking into the wood. This is ideal on all interior woods, including furniture, panelling, shelving, architraves, hand rails and much more. The natural blend of waxes, will colour the wood, to offer a more traditional look on bare timbers producing a nice sheen. Rugger Brown – This is a tone of brown mainly used on hardwoods such as Oak and Walnut but is also a good alternative on Elm and Pine woods for a slightly darker shade.Available colours: Clear/Light, Antique Brown, Cherry, Forest Brown, Jacobean, Rugger Brown, Stripped Pine Solid Oak Mantle Beams are hand carved, sanded and ready to fit with a colour finish of your choice. Choose a solid oak mantel to finish the contemporary or traditional look of your fireplace. We’re committed to using reclaimed wood and upcycled materials sourced from local suppliers and turning them into new, beautiful timeless pieces of furniture. As a natural living material, reclaimed and rustic wood develops over time. With the natural adjustment of the wood acclimatising to a new environment, changes such as surface splits may start to appear. For more information about reclaimed furniture, please see here.

Light Driftwood- a light, natural clear colour. Similar to a pine colour bringing out the natural colour and features of the timber. For previously finished woods (especially on antique furniture) I would recommend using a polish reviver first and then finish with Fiddes Mellow Wax Furniture Polish. Jacobean – This wax is very dark so ideal on darker period Oak antique furniture or any timber That you want to add a dark tone. Fiddes Supreme Wax is almost odour free, applies easily and once polished to the desired sheen level, gives a depth of finish that revives and protects any original shiny surface while preserving the patina. The Clear / Light variant is suitable for use as a final finish after using Fiddes Liming Wax.

Several coats may be added as the Wax provides a depth of finish that revives and protects any original patina of your wood. Application can be by cloth, brush or sponge. If applying to an open grained bare wood it would be best to apply a coat of Shellac Sanding Sealer first to provide a base for a more consistent and resilient finish. After application, allow to dry for about 3 minutes before buffing with a soft cloth. For larger areas a drill buffing brush can be used. Applying additional coats will deepen the existing colour or shade and significantly enhance the resulting sheen level. Available in seven carefully selected shades, the Fiddes Supreme Wax range exhibits significant advantages over many traditional toluene based wax polishes. As each piece of timber is unique, there may be slight colour variations throughout your furniture, and even on a single board, as the wax/stain is applied.

Driftwood- typically a darker version of our Light Driftwood finish with a mix of natural wood tones and some similarities to a pine-coloured wood. Sand the surface using a fine sanding paper or pad. Always sand in the direction of the grain and remove any blemishes etc. prior to the application. Remove all sanding dust and test the chosen shade to ensure you are happy with the colour.Light– A clear wax that maintains the existing, natural colour of the wood without changing the colour too much. This is ideal if you want to show the grain without darkening the wood. Also available in 7 other shades: Cherry, Light Brown, Forest Brown, Stripped Pine, Antique Brown, Jacobean, and Light. By drill buffing brush - let the bristles do the work. If you push down on the bristles they will start to soften and remove the wax from the surface of the wood Rugger Brown - a rich oak colour and the final finish will vary from a medium to a dark oak look depending on the timber used.

For best results, we recommend cleaning the surface first using Priory Polish Reviver using very fine wire wool. This will remove the dirt, grease ready for treatment of the wax finish. This will also give you the best sheen and add to the depth of the colour and finish.Next using very fine 0000 wire wool, or buffing cloth apply Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish in the direction of the grain onto the surface and remove any excess. Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin at all times.
