About this deal

The PD25R is very simple to operate. The tail switch turns it on and off and the side switch cycles through the brightness levels. From a 70 hour 5 lumen eco mode, to a 16 hour 30 lumen low mode, a 2 hour 50 minute 150 lumen medium mode, 1 hour 30 minute 350 lumen high mode and a 800 lumen turbo mode that will operate for up to 45 minutes but will step down in brightness as the torch heats up. The side switch LED will indicate the battery remaining just like the E18R when the torch is on. It’s pretty compact and lightweight at only 75g but its huge head and deep smooth reflector gives it a throw of a quite staggering 585 metres with an intensity of 85000 candela! I also have the SC21 Pro from Sofirn which is very similar but almost half the size and weight, running off a 16340 battery. And it has the option of a higher CRI, warmer LED which I do slightly prefer.

The magnetic charging cable snaps onto the magnetic tailcap of the torch with a full charge taking up to 3.5 hours. The LED on the charging cable changes from red to green when fully charged. I did find this often turned green a little early – but it still continued to charge slowly. The Wurkkos TS10 comes in a plain box with a lanyard, spare o-rings and a user manual. This is an AA style torch but will only take 3.6V Li-ion 14500s – it needs at least 3V and won’t work with standard 1.5V AA Alkaline or NiMH batteries unfortunately. Switching ON and OFF is done by the electronic switches on the side of the flashlight. There is momentary activation (MOMENTARY TURBO) using the MODE switch. Normal Operation The T1S uses a Luminus SST-40 LED behind a TIR lens and has pretty good throw for a tiny torch with a noticeable hotspot – around 184 metres or 8460 candela in turbo mode.Although it is crazy bright, you aren’t going to be using turbo mode very often because it’s designed to only shine for 10 seconds at a time before it turns off automatically. What I like The thing is though, I’m very open to ridiculous things on lights, so this is like handing treats to a child. To switch between Demo and Daily mode, hold both buttons on the light and the display will show the mode changing, and flash (once for Daily to Demo, and twice for Demo to Daily). But what you lose in output you make up for in the light quality. I measured a warm 4243K colour temperature, with barely any tint and a high CRI of 95 and an equally impressive R9 of 91. It’s important to realize that the built-in 1000mAh battery in the Nitecore T4K is not user replaceable. This is disappointing because it essentially means that the flashlight because trashcan fodder once the battery no longer holds a charge.

Brightness: You should also look at the brightness of the flashlight. The lumens listed will give you an idea of how bright it will be. For general use, a flashlight with 100-300 lumens should be enough, but if you think you need more, 1000-2000 lumens is probably enough. Under the OLED display there are the two electronic switches with which we will manage the NitecoreT4k. The two switches are protruding and provided with LEDs under the buttons. As can be seen from the symbols above these, one has an ON/OFF function (Power Switch) and with the other we will vary the 4 levels available beyond the momentary Turbo (Mode Switch). For this light, the spill, corona and hotspot is somewhat predictable due to the TIR optics. Surprisingly, the LEDs are not covered under the TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics. With the LEDs used, the beam is suited for recognizing items in the near to mid-range distance. Using the flashlight is easy. Pressing the power button will power the TK4 on in the ultralow mode (or the last used level) and then continued pressing the mode button will cycle to the next brightness levels of low, medium, and high. To use turbo, you hold down the mode button with the flashlight on or off. The flashlight will only remain on for 10 seconds in this mode and the OLED display will show a progress bar counts down the time limit.Switching ON the flashlight within 3 seconds after the 30 seconds, will put the flashlight into temporary DAILY mode until switch OFF.
