The estate, which is on the outskirts of Bristol, is the home of the fiesta with the mass ascents taking off from there each morning and night. Whether you are watching a morning candlelight glow, a visually dramatic sunrise ascension, or simply wandering through inflated works of art, you will find these hot-air balloon festivals around the U.S. are as impressive as they are memorable. This will be the second time the Fiesta has gone ahead in its traditional form since the Coronavirus pandemic and the first since Covid to boast shuttle buses taking people to and from Bristol city centre. Drawing over 900,000 visitors and 600 pilots fromseven countries over a nine-day period, this is the largest and longest-running balloon festival in the country. It is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle to watch over 500 hot air and gas-filled balloons shaped as animals, characters and cultural symbols ascend over the Sandia Mountains and New Mexico deserts. Starting with an obvious one, Ashton Court is of course the best place to see all of the action from the four-day fiesta. The Festival does not pre-sell general lot parking passes. Spaces are limited and lot parking is subject to availability. The harbourside provides beautiful views of Bristol even without mass ascents, with balloons making them even more special.Friday will begin cloudy and there is a small chance of some showers but it should stay dry, with some sunshine coming through in the afternoon. Temperatures will be a little cooler, reaching 23ºC. Every year the Fiesta has an official charity partner and this year it is the Teenage Cancer Trust. Kathryn Wiltshire, National Highways’ network planning officer for the South West, said: “We’re reminding road users to plan ahead during the Balloon Fiesta – roads leading to the event are likely to be very busy.

Last night, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta teased today's launch event on Facebook. What's more, a super moon surprised those who had got up early to enjoy the AM mass ascents, which begin at around 6am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, making for some stunning photo opportunities.
