About this deal

I'm pretty sure it's too soon to love her. But shit. She's got to stop doing and saying these unexpected things that make me want to fast-forward whatever's going on between us. I can't stop living, breathing and feeling this story. Losing Hope was just absolute, beautiful perfection. Willingham, A. J. (August 27, 2023). "Colleen Hoover is the hottest author in America. She also may be the most controversial". CNN . Retrieved August 28, 2023.

I’m scared if I kiss her too soon, it’ll feel like every other kiss she’s ever received. She’ll feel nothing. I don’t want her to feel nothing when I kiss her. I want her to feel everything.”In a nutshell, Losing Hope is more than just a retelling of Hopeless. Yes, we know what happened already so why should we bother reading the same story again? Well, as I mentioned above there is more to it than just retelling the same story in Hopeless. We get to see/read about two new characters, Les and Daniel. Les is not really new but we get to know her a little better here. We also get to know the enigma that is Dean Holder. I read Losing Hope as slowly as I could because I just didn't want it to ever end. I was WITH the characters every single step of the way. Totally connected. Totally involved. Totally absorbed in every aspect of the story.

As opposed to the heavy content and themes from the first two books, this lighthearted read features new and unexpected love, some steamy scenes, and lots of witty banter. We also get a fair amount of Holder and Sky in this story who we already know and love from the prequels. Yes! This is a audible that a non reader/listener could get into. I like to listen to books again with friends and family that they wouldn't normally read. Oh good lord...where do I begin??? I honestly didn't think it was possible to love Dean Holder more. This book? This book isn't Hopeless retold. This book is Holder's story. Yes, there are some recapped moments, but there was so much more that I learned about Holder in this book. Seriously, I fell in love with him even more. Holder made me swoon and fall in love with him all over again. The more he gets to know Sky, the more he starts to suspect she could be Hope. He’s not sure if he wants her to be. He just wants her to be happy. He just wants her. He is falling for her.So much of Losing Hope is new. It's not just an alternate perspective, it's actually a whole different part of the story entirely. But if you piece it together with Hopeless, you just get EVERYTHING.

Losing Hope took me through all the same emotions of Hopeless but they were magnified because every single thing that happened now carried the weight of the emotion you already knew from Hopeless PLUS the new emotions created by all the new things we learned in Losing Hope about Holder. Now, I could write out a play by play for you, but that would completely ruin your experience. And believe me when I tell you that there are moments in this book that will leave you breathless, as well as completely sobbing. There were a few surprises along the way too that were unexpected, unknown, and made me thank Hoover for writing such a beautiful piece of art. Because it was. Colleen Hoover is a word artist. This book was beautiful, tragic, heartbreaking, and made me feel a wide range of emotions. LOSING HOPE will sit along side HOPELESS as one of my all-time favorite reads. If you fell in love with HOPELESS, like so many others, you won't want to miss LOSING HOPE! I realize it's a challenge to write a companion story that "flips the script" or tells a variant version of a same story, but usually the strength in being able to tell an alternate story is to offer new grounds of intrigue and insight specific to the character you're writing the perspective point in. I'll admit there was some potential with that considering Holder reflects on his sister's death and has to deal with the rumors about his person and his own family issues, but I'll admit in the whole time that I followed Holder in this, it was like reading someone's account at arms length and the major measures that shaped him were only with respect to Les's death and Hope's disappearance. Not to mention that I don't think there was anything that new added to the cast at large in this account - the characters had very little dimensions and connectivity, and the mystery was not so much compelling as the first account because you already know what happens in so many measures. Plus, there were some revelations given here that I had a very hard time believing, much like in the first book. The personalities of these two characters and the thoughts they possess are so vastly different; hearing them tell accounts of the same events is gripping.Holder sees Sky at the grocery store and is immediately drawn to her. Thinking she is someone he used to know, he chases after her only to find out it's not her. They keep "running" into each other...is it fate or something else? While we suspected Holder’s feelings to be strong, we now find out how overwhelmingly intense they were from the moment he laid eyes on Sky. They love story is epic – it is the story of two young people who have cared for each other for over a decade and who are now drawn to each other all over again, like two magnets unable to fight the pull, the growing love between them healing their hearts and giving them the courage to face the impending truth. They are kindred spirits who might be falling in love with one another for the first time, but their hearts have known each other and have been connected for a very long time. “I’ve loved Hope since we were kids. But tonight? Tonight I fell in love with Sky.” New Adult author Colleen Hoover releases novel 'It Ends with Us' ". NY Daily News . Retrieved November 26, 2016.

I can honestly say I’ve found the only other person in this world who understands my guilt. The only other person who understands my pain. The only person who accepts that it’s who I am. I used to think the best part of me died with Les, but the best part of me is standing right here in front of me. Never Never, a 2015 collaboration with Tarryn Fisher, was originally split into three parts and sold as three separate books. The work was later republished as one complete book. He is not sure if she is his friend but he has to know her, be with her.As it seems they have many things in common and these two are simply the best book couple ever!I laughed a lot with their sarcasm but mostly I loved being in his head.Ughh I remember reading somewhere that he is just a horny teen. Well yeah what do you expect? He's a guy and of course his only purpose was to tease her to hell and have naughty thoughts.I'm glad that Holder is not the perfect guy who would do this skinny love thing. He is outspoken and arrogant. And it was great rereading my favorite lines and the things I loved....the ego deflating texts, the Firsts, the Forevers and especially the Lives. Her baking and his cooking, their reading books and "chapter breaks", holding pinkies and looking at the sky when you're sad....there is just so many romantic things! Holder soon befriends Sky and starts to spend more time with her, but Sky herself doesn't seem to have any idea who Holder is. She doesn't remember anything from what happened before she was taken away from her home and family when she was just five years old. The more time they spend together, the more Holder starts to fall in love with the girl Sky is now and the more he wishes that she wouldn't be Hope so that their present won't be affected by the events that happened in the past.
